HI, and welcome Brain Box Comics! This is the first underground comic book of its kind and I hope it will convince more cartoonists to use this untapped medium. Unlike superhero comics, "Underground" comics have been around since the 60's and are still strong today. They are usually produced solely by the artist and this allows full freedom of expression uncensored by advertisers or editors. Unfortunatly, this means they are very low budget (usually xerox & staple) and low distribution. (I can't tell you how many stapling parties I've been to!) So most the world misses out on this raw & very personal talent. By going digital I hope to share this art form to people who wouldn't get a chance otherwise.
Requirements for this are: Mac w/2mb Ram & 12" 8 bit color monitor. To view issues you need to downlaod Brain Box Comix issues. (If you downloaded this from a BBS, chances are they are listed next to this issue.) In the Brain Box folder there should be a folder named "stories" (DONT change the name of this folder). After down loading your story files drop them into that folder. Double click on the application to read the issue. You can skip stories by going to "stories" in the menu bar. The blinking green hands at the bottom turn the pages. Look for future issues which you can continue to drop into your story folder and collect.
I'm always rounding up new cartoonists for future issues! You should be able to find them on most BBS and and networks like AOL, Compuserve etc... This is shareware and may be distributed freely as long as no part of it is altered. It must not be sold with out my permission.
